Vukovar, 11 September 2014 – The Mayor of Vukovar Ivan Penava received on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Croatia H.E. Suh Hyung-won accompanied by Che Dongh-wan, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, Junghyun Park administrative secretary and Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The visit was also attended by Mayor’s Penava two Deputy Mayor’s Marijan Pavliček and Marija Budimir as well as Kristina Glumac Senior Associate for EU projects.
- Todays visit was used to highlight our capabilities to develop cooperation in the field of economy, culture and sports. Our priority was to present the economy potential that Vukovar has as well as all the benefits for potential investors. I am pleased to know the information that the Embassy of the Republic of Korea provides such significant support to Croatian entrepreneurs in learning about the market and business conditions in South Korea. This first contact is encouraging to us and we will not stop at this. We offered our assistance in organizing the National Day of the Republic of Korea here in Vukovar, on October the 9th 2014, during which we will become even more firmly connected to the representatives of the Republic of Korea, which is at the forefront of world economic powers – said the Mayor of Vukovar after the meeting.

Suh Hyung-Won the ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Croatia expressed his utmost respect for Vukovar and its citizens – All the Embassies in Croatia celebrate their national holidays in Zagreb, but our Embassy wishes on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Korea to inform citizens of Vukovar and the eastern part of the Croatia with the Korean culture, customs and history – said the Ambassador H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, adding that he wants to continue to promote eastern Croatia as a tourist destination since the citizens of the Republic of Korea mainly for their visit to Croatia, chose the area of Dalmatia and central Croatia.
