THE PREMIERE PRESENTATION OF THE CROATIAN COMPANIES IN THE FAR EAST

Agrokor, Kraš, Vindija and Badel 1862 opened the doors to the Korean market and the markets of the Far East with their appearance at the “Seoul Food 2015»

Seoul, South Korea, May 12, 2015. – In Seoul, the South Korean capital today was held the opening of the most important food and beverage fair in Asia, “Seoul Food 2015» (http://seoulfood.or.kr/eng/), which will be open from May 12 to May 15, 2015. The fair was opened with a symbolic ribbon cutting attented by most diplomatic representatives in the Republic of Korea and led by the world president and CEO of KOTRA Mr. Jaehong Kim.

Representatives form the diplomatic corps at the opening ceremony were led by US Ambassador to Korea H.E. Mark William Lippert joined by Croatian Ambassador to Japan H.E. Mira Martinec and many other. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Croatian companies Agrokor, Kraš, Vindija and Badel 1862 which are exhibiting their products at the Fair, as well as numerous other dignitaries including Croatian Honorary Consul in Korea and a member of the Advisory Board of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Mr. In-Mo Yang, a long-time adviser to the founder of the Samsung Group Mr. Lee Byung-chul and director of Samsung Engineering, Mr. Ivan Škorić, Vice President of Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. KwanMook Kim, Director of KOTRA in Croatia, Mr. Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club and Mr. Igor Zgrabljić, Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club and others.

Croatian-Korean Business Club in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Croatia and KOTRA office in Zagreb organized the first appearance of the Croatian companies at the fair, as well as the visit of the accompanying Croatian business delegation who will use this opportunity to start the cooperation with the Korean business world. The fair is held in the Korean largest business exhibition centre – KINTEX, in one of the 10 halls with the size of 76.121m2, with 50 participating countries, 3,000 exhibition spaces, with over 1,500 exhibitors and more than 52,000 expected visitors.

“Seoul Food 2015″ is the most significant event in Korea for businesses in the field of import / export of food and beverages that are active in the Korean market. The participation of the Croatian companies on the fair has sparked a huge interest of the Korean public, which is another major step forward the opening the Korean market and the promotion of Croatia and Croatian products in the Far East. Additional confirmation is the fact that Croatia in 2014 was visited by over 270,000 Koreans, and it is expected that this number will reach nearly 400,000 Korean guests in 2015.

The importance of the participation of the Croatian companies at this event is evidenced by the fact that their performance was supported by diplomatic, economic and commercial instances, thus proving that teamwork and joint efforts can make significant steps in promoting the Croatian economy. Croatian-Korean Business Club was founded with the aim of promoting and improving this kind of economic cooperation between Croatia and the Republic of Korea with a focus on encouraging the development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial initiatives, and trade between the two countries.
