Zagreb, December 28, 2015 – The Republic of Korea donates the amount of $300,000 to Croatian Red Cross. The amount is intended for the care of refugees and migrants that pass through Croatian territory. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Suh Hyung-Won presented the donation to Mr. Robert Markt, President of the Croatian Red Cross.
Thanking for the donation, Mr. Robert Markt noted that the Croatian Red Cross is in need of this donation: “For more than three months, volunteers and employees of the Croatian Red Cross provide assistance to refugees and migrants. We provide them food, water, hygiene; we provide them with psychosocial support and connect separated family. This is an extremely demanding action in every aspect and that is why we are grateful that you have recognized our dedication and great commitment, and your help is very much welcomed especially as the refugee crisis is still far from over.”
The Republic of Korea has previously provided its support to the Croatian Red Cross during the flood times, and this valuable donation is a sign of a continuing good cooperation. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Hyung-Won Suh said his country recognizes the work of the Croatian Red Cross in this refugee crisis: “With this donation, we want to show respect and compassion with Croatian citizens, especially those who participate in the daily care of the refugees.”
