Zagreb, 6 May 2015 – With the aim of strengthening business and friendly relationships with companies from South Korea, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Kraš d.d. and the Croatian-Korean Business Club was staged in the magnificent setting of the Krašograd EcoPark in Bratina, by which Kraš d.d. has become a member of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Damir Bulić, Chairman of the Management Board of Kraš d.d., Mr. Darko Radišić, Member of the Board of Kraš d.d. and Mr. Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, Mr. Uhm Wonjae, First Secretary and Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, Mrs. Marica Vidaković, authorized signatory of Kraš d.d., Mr. Tomislav Jović, Vice-Chairman of Supervisory Board of Kraš.d.d. and Mr. Igor Zgrabljić, Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club.
Speaking at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, Mrs. Marica Vidaković welcomed the Korean delegation and presented a concept of the Krašograd EcoPark with its various sports and leisure opportunities. Mr. Damir Bulić and Mr. Darko Radišić expressed their satisfaction that the company has become a member of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, and thanked the Club for their efforts made during preparations of the first fair appearance of Kraš at the Korean market.
On this occasion, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, expressed his satisfaction with the reputable company Kraš d.d. becoming a member of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, and wished the company to build successful relationships with the Korean economy.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was staged on the eve of the first appearance of Kraš d.d. at the largest food and drink fair for the markets of Korea and Japan “Seoul Food 2015”, which will take place in Seoul from 12 to 15 May 2015. Kraš d.d. operates as a modern, market oriented company. The annual output exceeds 33,000 tons of confectionery, of which almost half is being successfully exported to all markets worldwide. Development plans focus on strong exports, with the emphasis on strengthening the leading role in the regional markets, where Kraš operates through subsidiary companies. Kraš is also owner of two factories: MIRA – the largest biscuit and wafer factory in Prijedor (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and KAROLINA – a biscuit and wafer factory in Osijek. In making its first appearance at the fair “Seoul Food 2015”, Kraš is making the first steps in conquering Far Eastern markets.
President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, Mr. Zoran Horvat stressed his satisfaction with the new member of the Club and stated his belief that the membership would help the company to conduct its business successfully in the Korean market.
Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club, Mr. Igor Zgrabljić pointed out the great potential of the Korean market for Croatian exporters as well very good relations between two countries, which are especially reflected with the increase of the number of Korean tourists in the Republic of Croatia and the growing interest of the Korean business community for investment in Croatia and the region.
The Croatian-Korean Business Club was established with the aim of promoting and enhancing the economic cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Korea with a focus on promoting the development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial initiatives, and trade between the two countries.
