Mali Lošinj, April 17, 2015. - With the aim of strengthening business and friendly relations with companies from South Korea, at the Bellevue hotel, on the island Mali Lošinj today was staged the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Jadranka d.d., Triglav osiguranje d.d. and the Croatian-Korean Business Club by which Jadranka d.d. and Triglav Osiguranje d.d. became members of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The memorandum was signed by Mr. Sanjin Šolić, President of the Management Board of Jadranka d.d., Mr. Marin Matijaca, President of the Management Board of Triglav osiguranje d.d. and Mr. Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, Mr. Gari Cappelli, the Mayor of Mali Lošinj, Mr. Uhm Wonjae, First Secretary and Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia and Mr. Igor Zgrabljić, Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club.
During the signing of the Memorandum the Mayor of Mali Lošinj Mr. Gari Cappelli, welcomed all present, especially the Croatian-Korean delegation, and whished them in his name and in the name of the whole city of Mali Lošinj a pleasant stay in this beautiful Croatian city.
On this occasion, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, expressed his satisfaction with the membership of the prominent business groups Jadranka d.d. and Triglav osiguranje d.d. in the Croatian-Korean Business Club, and wished the companies to successfully connect with the Korean economy.
Thanking the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea for the visit and support to the development of the Croatian-Korean economic relations, President of the Board Jadranka d.d. Mr. Sanjin Šolić noted that co-operation in tourism is one of the strongest link in maintaining very good relations between the two countries, which Jadranka d.d., as one of the leading Croatian tourist company, can certainly contribute. This will definitely support the great interest of the Korean tourists for Croatia, which is visible in the number of Korean tourist in Croatia, which was for the 2014 about 260,000.
President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Mr. Zoran Horvat emphasized his satisfaction with the new members of the Club and stated his belief that through this membership Jadranka d.d. and Triglav osiguranje d.d. will achieve new successful business activities with the Korean market.
Within the Croatian-Korean delegation stay on Lošinj the Management Board of Jadranka d.d. presented them the activities of Jadranka d.d. as well as current and forthcoming investment projects, worth a total of more than 200 million euros, which will allow year-round tourism and will help make Mali Lošinj a leading vital destination on the Mediterranean.
The Republic of Korea, one of the industrial and economically most developed countries in recent years is becoming an increasingly important tourist destination, visited yearly by more than 11 million tourists. With the Croatia entering to the European Union, the traditionally good economic and political relations are gaining new momentum since Croatia has become a preferred tourist destination for the Koreans and desirable trading partner through the Free Trade Agreement of the EU with Korea.
