THE DAYS OF KOREAN CINEMA IN CROATIA

Osijek, 12 September 2014 – On the eve of the opening of Korean cinema in Croatia, H.E. Hyung-won Suh, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, accompanied by Che Dongh-wan, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission and Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club were the guests of Mayor Ivan Vrkić and his Deputy Vladimir Ham. The hosts introduced him to basic geographic, cultural and political policies, and, above all, economic resource potentials of the river Drava. They presented its geostrategic position with the river and the airport as well as the road and rail traffic, Industrial Zone Nemetin and highlight the potentials of the city Osijek as a university town and a city of rapid development of IT industry.

Culture always breaks the ice of mutual cooperation between the two countries and nations, and the economic cooperation then naturally follows and we believe to be so in this case – agreed both the guests and hosts. The Days of the Korean cinema are the first step and they opened the door for establishing good relations, and in the cinema Urania H.E. Hyung-Won Suh and Deputy Mayor Vladimir Ham officially opened those doors.
