Zagreb, 20 February, 2015. – At Vindija headquarters in Varaždin Mr. Dragutin Drk, CEO of Vindija and his management team Mr. Saša Vojnović, Adviser to the General Director for Trade, Mr. Alan Mravlinčić, Purchasing Manager, Ms Petra Košćak Hopwood, Marketing Director, and Ms. Mirjana Džambić, Advisor for export have welcomed H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, Korean Ambassador to Croatia, Mr. Uhm Wonjae, First Secretary and Consul as well as the delegation of the Korean-Croatian Business Club (CKBC) led by Mr. Zoran Horvat, President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club and longtime director of Samsung Corporation in Croatia (1991-2005), and Mr. Igor Zgrabljić, Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club.
During their time spent at Vindija, the entire delegation visited the Koka plant and held a working meeting at which they discussed the entry of Vindija on the Korean market, as well as the appearance of Vindija on the upcoming largest fair of food and beverages Seoul Food 2015, which will be held in Seoul from 12. -15. May 2015. H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia expressed his satisfaction with the possible participation of Vindija the mentioned fair, and is in addition to support Mr. Zoran Horvat and delegation of Korean-Croatian Business Club, offered full support to the Korean Business Center (KOTRA) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in this project.
Vindija business system encompasses 13 companies, out of which 8 are based in Croatia and 5 in neighbouring countries. It employs a workforce of more than 4,000 and makes an annual turnover of 400 million euros. Vindija’s assortment encompasses more than 1000 different products in ten brands most notably ‘z bregov, Cekin and Vindon. Vindija has commercial centers in all major Croatian cities, and distributes products through a Vindija company member trades in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Macedonia. With a strong local and regional presence Vindija exports its products to EU countries.
President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Mr. Zoran Horvat noted his satisfaction with this visit and mentioned that he believes the Vindija will certainly benefit with their products on the market of a great power like the Republic of Korea. He also promised full support of the Club in mediating between Vindija and the Korean business world.
The Secretary General of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Mr. Igor Zgrabljić pointed out the great potential of the Korean market for the Croatian exporters as well as very good relations between the two countries, which is especially reflected in the increased number of Korean tourists in the Republic of Croatia and the growing interest of the Korean business community to invest in Croatia and the region.
