ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PRIVATE INSTITUTION IN THE BILATERAL RELATIONS BETWEEN CROATIA AND KOREA

Zagreb, July 6, 2016 - The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Zagreb and the Croatian-Korean Business Club hosted a ceremony marking the second anniversary of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. Along with the hosts the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia H.E. Park Won-Sup and the President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Zoran Horvat present guests were addressed by the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament academician Željko Reiner, Economic Adviser to the President of the Republic of Croatia Marko Jurčić, and Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Croatia Ivan Sertić.

In his opening speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea H.E. Park Won-Sup said that the Croatian-Korean Business Club is the most important private institution in Croatia-Korea relations and thanked the founders of the Club for their persistent efforts in the development of economic cooperation between the two countries. He concluded by saying that the full potential of economic cooperation between the two countries has yet to be realized.

President of the Croatian-Korean Business Club Zoran Horvat said that the longtime friendly relations between Croatia and Korea have this year further strengthened by the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Croatian Government on air transport. He thanked all the members and friends of the Club for their confidence and promised that the Club will continue to look for and create opportunities and possibilities for business cooperation with the main aim of creating business opportunities for its members, and consequently affect the economic picture of the Republic of Croatia.

Assistant Minister of Economy Ivan Sertić expressed his wish that in the coming years more Korean companies choose Croatia as a country to invest and develop their business projects.

On this occasion, President of the Croatian Parliament academician Željko Reiner said that the traditional friendship between Croatia and Korea each year is being more and more developed. He stressed the importance of relations between the two countries are developing more intensively in all areas of human activity especially in the area of ​​science, culture and economy.

Economic Advisor to the President of the Republic of Croatia Marko Jurčić said that the present activities of the Croatian-Korean Business Club were of particular importance for the development of cooperation between the two countries and expressed his wish that the next year’s anniversary celebration of the Club will be an opportunity for another success story of economic cooperation between Croatia and Korea.

The ceremony marking the anniversary of the Croatian-Korean Business Club was attended by some 100 dignitaries and representatives of the Croatian and Korean companies and institutions including diplomatic representatives of Japan, the United States and the Holy Seat in the Republic of Croatia, Vice President of the City Assembly of Zagreb Davor Bernardić, member of the Supervisory Board of Agrokor Damir Kuštrak, Secretary-General of the Foreign Investors Council Igor Zgrabljić, President of the Croatian Academy of Engineering, Professor Vladimir Andročec, general Krešimir Ćosić and many others.
