THE OPENING OF THE FIRST KOREAN FOOD FESTIVAL IN CROATIA AND TRADITIONAL KOREAN LUNCH HOSTED BY H.E. SUH HYUNG-WON

Zagreb, November 15, 2014 – As a part of the first Korean Food Festival, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian-Korean Business Club in hotel Esplanade Zagreb, H.E. Suh Hyung-Won, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, hosted a traditional Korean lunch for the delegation of the Croatian-Korean Business Club. The menu was prepared and presented by one of the Korean master chefs, President of Korean Food Institute, Sook-ja Yoon, the biggest expert in the Korean royal cuisine.

Chef Yoon was invited by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to come to Zagreb and present the Royal Korean Food on the first Korean Food Festival organized in Croatia. She and her team took the opportunity to train the chefs from hotel Esplanade Zagreb the secrets of real Korean cuisine. As Koreans enjoy food with all senses, they had to learn, not just preparation of food, but the preparation of tables and whole Korean dining experience. After one week of training, the team from hotel Esplanade was approved by chef Yoon to serve Korean food, and from today all visitors have the opportunity to taste real Korean dining experience in heart of Zagreb.

The lunch was also an opportunity for members of the Croatian-Korean Business Club to discuss with H.E. Suh Hyung-Won many opportunities of business cooperation between two countries arising from activities, which have been initiated by the Croatian-Korean Business Club in the recent period.
